These cops really took a series of L’s.


If you don’t want someone to take your car, you have to lock the door — and you certainly have to put it into a position through which one would require a key or some other device to start.


You’d think that the police would know this information, but these officers certainly didn’t. While attending to a woman having a mental health episode, they left their car unattended — allowing the woman to get into it and start to drive it away.


Well, she was probably trying to drive it away, but what ended up happening was her smashing the car into a tree.


According to a follow-up investigation, the car was brand new and unable to be recovered after the accident. Glad to see our tax dollars hard at work!

How many more times do we have to say “don’t drive on the train tracks”?


Trains are fast and difficult to start and stop. Cars, in contrast, are relatively easy to maneuver and bring to a halt. This is why if there’s a train crossing, the train is given the right of way, while the cars are meant to wait behind a barrier until the locomotive has safely passed and traffic can begin again.


However, some people think they’re too good to wait. They’ll try to sneak in *just* under the barrier, apparently not realizing that all they’re doing is setting up their car to be train bait.


In this case, a woman got her car stuck between the barriers and, rather than try to drive it out, decided to attempt to stop the train.


This, of course, didn’t work, and her beloved vehicle became nothing more than a memory.
